Relaxing Since 1963

Smith Memorial Park is a classic campground and public park built on the slopes of Seneca Lake. Created in the 1970’s, it was originally the fruit farm of the Smith family who had welcomed visitors to enjoy its lake access since the 1800’s. When Leon and Mildred Smith were offered $250,000 for the property in the early 1960’s, they decided against profit and donated it to the community.

The Town of Hector now maintains the campground and developing day use park. Located in the heart of New York State’s Finger Lakes and along the Seneca Lake Wine Trail, it offers the best of both nature and socializing.
