Policies

1. Hours of Operation

  • Day Use: Dawn to dusk year-round if roads are passable.

  • Quiet Hours: 10pm to 9am daily.

  • Campground Season: May through October

  • Campsite check-in: 1:00pm and check-out: 11:00am

  • Boat Launch: April 1 - November 30

  • Swim Beach: Dates vary annually.

2. Boat Launch

  • $5 cash/$6 credit per launch. On the honor system. Pay at park office.

  • Parking at boat launch is prioritized for boat launch users.

  • Use south parking lot (1-2 min. walk away) as needed.

3. Campsite Occupancy

MAXIMUM:

  • 1 tent or RV

  • 2 vehicles

  • 6 people

  • 2 pets

  • Non-motorized watercraft under 12’ in length

  • All boats and trailers to be parked in south parking lot.

4. Cancellation Policy

  • 30 DAYS OR MORE: full refund minus a $30 cancellation fee.

  • 15-29 DAYS: 50% refund

  • 14 DAYS OR LESS: No refund. No exceptions.

5. Trees

  • Please help protect park trees from excessive human activity: no hooks, screws, nails, chains, etc.

  • No cutting of trees, dead or alive.

6. Pets

  • 2 pets per campsite 

  • Pets must be leashed and never left unattended.

7. Swim Beach

  • Swimming allowed when lifeguards on duty.

  • Footwear should be worn due to sharp zebra mussels.

  • No glass on beach.

  • No vehicle access to swim beach.

8. Firewood & Campfires

  • Firewood available at park office. $5 cash / $6 credit

  • All fires must be kept within fire ring. 

  • Extinguish hot or smoldering fires with water when done.

  • Use local firewood cut with a 50-mile radius of park to prevent spreadable diseases of tress and plants.

9. Personal Belongings

  • Personal belongings subject to removal if left around park. Store on campsite only.

10. Not Permitted

  • Spotlights, fireworks, drones, hunting, guns, cutting of trees (alive or dead), golf carts or 4-wheel recreation vehicles, loud music.

11. Refund Policy

  • Campsite refunds follow our Cancellation Policy.

  • All refunds must be approved by the Hector Town Board and can take up to 35 days if approved.

  • Refunds will be made in original form of payment.

  • No refunds on firewood.

12. Release of Liability

  • Town of Hector shall not be responsible for safety or security of park user and/or their property.
