Smith Memorial Park is a campground and day-use park in the town of Hector. We offer camping from May through October and welcome the public for day-use of our picnic areas, swim beach, and walking trails.

Smith Memorial Park belongs to the Town of Hector, and as such, is free to the public. There is no charge for parking or visitation for day-use.

Visitors can park in the lot across from the office and walk down to the beach to swim when lifeguards are on duty. Check our swim beach tab for open hours.
While dogs are not allowed at the swim beach, they are allowed to swim along the rest of our lakefront areas. Head to the boat launch or down our Green Path to access the shore with your furry friend!

No, your non-motorized crafts do not require a boat launch fee. You may launch these at our boat launch, off of our Green Path, or even off of our swim beach. Visitors who are launching motorized craft must pay their $5 launch fee at our office to use our boat launch.

Check-in is 1pm, Check-out is 11am. If the office is closed when you arrive, you can grab the map labeled with your name from the folder at the front of our office and head to your site.

Yes! Dump station use is free for our campers, and the dump station code is available upon request. If you are not camping at Smith Park but would like to use the dump station, the fee for dumping is $20, payable only in cash when the office is staffed (call ahead to ensure staff is on-site).

Yes, showers for non-campers are $5, payable in cash at our park office.

Our refund policy is as follows:
30+ days from arrival date: Full refund, minus a $30 non-refundable cancellation fee
15-29 days from arrival date: 50% refund
14 days or less: No refund
