Park Policies
1. PARK OPERATION: DATES AND HOURS
Day Use: Dawn to dusk year-round if roads are passable.
Quiet Hours: 10pm to 9am daily
Campground
Season: May through October
Check-in = 1pm and Check-out = 11am
Boat Launch: April 1 - November 30
Swim Beach: Dates vary. Typically mid-June through end of August.
2. BOATLAUNCH
$5 per launch. On the honor system. Pay at park office.
Parking at the boat launch is prioritized for boat launch users.
Use overflow parking lot (2-3 min. walk away) as needed.
3. CAMPSITE OCCUPANCY
1 tent or RV per site
2 vehicles and/or boats
6 persons per site
4. CAMPING CANCELLATION POLICY
30 days or more: full refund minus $30 cancellation fee.
15-29 days: 50% refund
14 days or less: No refund
5. TREES
Protect park trees from excessive human activity: no hooks, screws, nails, chains, etc.
6. PETS
2 pets
Pets must be leashed and not left unattended.
7. CHILDREN
Under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult at the shore.
Must wear a helmet while riding bicycle.
8. SWIM BEACH
Footwear should be worn due to sharp zebra mussels.
No swimming when lifeguards are not on duty.
No glass
No vehicle access
9. FIREWOOD & CAMPFIRES
Firewood available at park office. Pay on honor system.
All fires must be kept within the fire ring.
If campfire is hot, do no leave or go to sleep. Extinguish with water.
NYS law prohibits firewood cut from more than a 50-mile radius of park.
10. personal belongings
Must be stored on campsite only. Subject to removal if left around park.
11. NOT PERMITTED at park or campground
Spotlights, fireworks, drones, hunting, guns, cutting of trees (alive or dead), golf carts or 4-wheel recreation vehicles.
12. REFUND POLICY
All refund must be approved by Town of Hector and may take up to 35 days.
13. Release of liability
Town of Hector shall not be responsible for safety or security of park user and/or their property.
